Sense of Self Bathhouse
On the ground floor of a converted warehouse in Collingwood is the Sense of Self Bathhouse, the latest addition to the Sense of Self wellness studio. Designed by an all-female team from SetSquare Studio, Chamberlain Architects, and Hearth Studio, the communal bathhouse is a reimagining of what wellness means in the modern era.
Portrait Gallery
This inclusive wellness space offers a large mineral bath, steam room, Finnish sauna, interior courtyard, and cold plunge pool for its guests. Beyond the inviting Mediterranean-inspired colour palette, surfaces and furnishings primarily were made of terracotta, travertine, micro cement, or sandstone. These materials evoke feelings of bathhouses in such places like Turkey, Scandinavia, and Japan, where the owners drew much of their inspiration. Because the design’s focus was also on comfort, the bathhouse becomes a way for clients to experience escapism and self-connection on a new level.
