Scandi House
Scandi House’s simple geometry and its focus on the natural environment create a captivating impression.
The Scandi House is part of Lifespaces Group’s Auhaus Release, a collection of five high-end, architect-created plans that can only be built ten times. This single-level home was influenced by Scandinavian design principles, as seen in the clean, gabled roofline and its focus on immersing the house in its natural surroundings.
Since the concept behind the house was to be deliberate and bold with the building’s forms, it makes sense that that logic would apply to the furnishings and fixtures as well. In both the kitchen and bathrooms, our Scala taps in Matt Black stand out in the white-focussed stylings of the spaces, encouraging touch and use. The collection’s classic soft geometry also gently calls back to the curved forms of the lighting and seating in the kitchen as well as the inviting rounded shapes of the bathtub and basin in the bathrooms.
Daylight and the home’s connection with nature are why it feels so charming. Even though it’s somewhat reserved from the street, the interior is large and welcoming, punctuated by the light-filled interior courtyard. The large windows in the main living area bring in more light and sights of the private outdoor area, allowing its tenants to embrace the green surroundings at anytime of day.
