In the seaside suburb of Wellington Point, Queensland is Bayview One, Elissa and Darren’s new family home. After 15 years of renovations for clients under their company, Darren James Interiors, this project was their first to completely build and design. Drawn to the ocean and the lot’s accessibility to Moreton Bay, they finally felt it was time to make it their perfect home after owning the property since 2014.
For their tapware and all of Bayview One’s products, the couple wanted to use manufacturers that are based in Australia. Our Australian heritage and commitment to local craftsmanship, made it was an easy decision. They chose products from our Circa collection in Brushed Nickel for the bathrooms, a Milli Pure and Circa combination in Matt White for the kitchen, Voda mixer in Chrome for the laundry, and an outdoor shower from our Monsoon range in 316 Stainless Steel. They also loved how our Australian-made products met the Climate Active Network’s rigorous sustainability requirements.
With the almost all-white exterior using the vertical cladding, timber, and brick textures to emphasise the home’s volume, the interiors explored the tall spaces through its light coloured material palette. White brick walls (matching the exterior), warm wood furniture, and polished concrete floors speckled with white quartz stone are balanced by the curation of welcoming fixtures and decor. These soft, rounded shapes are found as highlights amongst the clean lines of the rooms. This home is a true harmonisation of form and texture, a perfect haven for a busy family.
